Bernard Proot

Chef Bernard Proot is a top pastry chef who worked at Wittamer, Lenôtre and DelRey in order to gain experience in the world of (high-end) pastry. After doing so, he took up the position of pastry chef at DelRey in 1983 and eventually took over the business, which he turned into a well-renowned pastry shop.

DelRey, originally situated exclusively in Antwerp (Belgium), now comprises an additional four shops, three of which are located in Japan.

Chef Proot is the only Flemish member of ‘Relais Desserts’, a professional organisation that gathers all the big names in the pastry trade from all around the world.
