Chef Fabrizio Galla was born in San Sebastiano da Po near Turin, Italy. He started out his culinary career as a pupil of Iginio Massari, the Italian master pastry chef that served as honorary president at the 2013 World Chocolate Masters.
Both Chefs often collaborated together and participated in many contests, including the 2005 World Chocolate Masters (at which Chef Galla won second place and the prize for best moulded praline), the 2007 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in Lyon (at which Chef Galla won the prize for best entremet) and even the 2010 World Pastry Team Championship in Phoenix, at which Chef Galla earned second place.
Chef Galla currently works at La Farmacia del Cambio in Turin, which is a historic pharmacy that has been converted into a pastry shop. He is also about to open his own business in San Sebastian da Po in February.
